Pressure on Buhari to continue with IT policies

Calls have been made for the incoming Buhari administration to retain the services of current ICT minister, Dr. Omobola Johnson by both Mark Essien (hotels.ng) and Lanre Akinlagun (Drinks.ng).

Essien argued that to continue the policy would be to further economic growth in the 'e-business' sector. Femi Taiwo, founder of privateproperty.com.ng noted the need for the Federal government to focus on providing a framework for stable electricity supply in addition to:

“Allocating resources for infrastructural development, while making policies that will assist the growth of the technology sector; for instance giving internet service providers a tax holiday, giving them the go ahead to dig the roads to lay fibre optic cables which will help in bringing down the cost of providing internet access to every Nigerian, remains imperative.”
