A group of hackers are demanding a ransom from Apple or they claim they will remotely erase millions of customer iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
The hacker collective appear to be London based and have named themselves 'The Turkish Crime Family'. Their demands are for $75,000 to be paid in Bitcoin or Ethereum (an alternate cryptocurrency). The group claim to have access to 250 million accounts, they have stated that should their demands not be by April 7th met they will wipe the customer devices and reset passwords.
The hackers obtained their database from other previously breached websites and services, notably 2016's LinkedIn and Evony data leaks as well as the Last.fm data breach that occurred in 2012.
